About us

The National Trainee Committee for Cardiothoracic Surgery (NTCCTS) is the training arm of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) in Great Britain and Ireland. We represent the views and interests of all doctors pursuing a career in cardiothoracic surgery, ranging from foundation doctors to senior specialty registrars.

Through several partnerships we execute a commonly held vision encompassing the views of all trainees and are able to execute real, & meaningful change.

We hold regular teaching webinars, wet lab sessions in association with ASiT and dedicated breakout sessions at the SCTS annual meeting where there are plenty of opportunities to learn, network and share ideas and training issues.

Our aim is for the UK and Ireland cardiothoracic training programmes to be one that is accessible to all, and delivers on its intended objectives as a training programme.
